STRESS FRACTURE

Have you ever wondered what is Stress Fracture? Few months back during ongoing series between India & Australia, Mitchell Starc a pacer from Australian Cricket Team returned to his home, leaving the series in midway after getting diagnosed from stress fracture. It was also believed many atheletes including Great Sachin Tendulkar also suffers from stress fracture. Here are some important facts about it.

1) Stress fracture does not occur due to direct injury but it is the fracture resulted due to overuse.

2) It is most prominently seen in ATHELETES doing repetitive running jumping activities. Observe Bowling action of Mitchell Starc👇. He put load in right foot just before he delivers the ball. This resulted in this overuse injury.

3) The most common sites of stress fractures are Metatarsal( foot bones) , ankle( navicular, calcaneus) bones, spine, tibia( leg bone).

4) March fracture(Metatarsal fracture) commonlyy seen in military soldiers.

5) Symptoms of fracture includes pain, localised swelling & tenderness after end of the activity. Clear Diagnosis confirmed after X ray investigation.

6) Fracture treatment may vary from (rest, compression, ice elevation) to surgery depends upon the grade in which it fall.

7) Wearing, tearing & injuries are common in ATHELETES. But one can prevent it if proper precautions are taken in order to avoid such kind of Fractures.
a) Divide equal weight on both the foots.
b) Avoid high intensity exercise for long duration.
c) Always perform stretching exercise of various muscles before play and practice.
d) Never be in haste to complete warm up session.

'Birds' are weather reporter

Introduction

Birds are the indicator of rain. Yes! they can tell whether it will rain or not. For that you have to observe them carefully during the overcast. You don't have to check weather report for that. They may tell you whether you should keep an umbrella or not.

Study
During the late spring in the month of March, rain showers is quite common in India. when the clouds fills your sky, you watch their fly pass. Apart from this there is one more thing you may have noticed. The birds! Have you seen them enjoying flying in cloudy weather. Feathers in the air! Like tiny helicopters moving with the wind. If we want to go outside but reluctant  as you think it may rain, then step out of the home carefree. Because it will not rain. The birds flying high under the clouds are the indicator that it will not rain. These are just alien clouds which will pour down somewhere else. They are just crossing a territory. When birds fly high in the sky, clouds are passing by and if there is no thunder, then most probably there will be no rain. In a certain behaviour it was noticed, birds, moment before the rain, vacates the sky. And they don't fly that high. Their flight is restricted to few metres high from the ground when it's going to rain. On other cloudy windy days, they fly high as they already know it's not going to rain.

Discussion
Do you observe nature carefully? It has all the answers of every question. Every species is important. Mutual understanding among the species is the core. Their behaviour, habits & adaptation to surrounding can tell many things which we are trying to find from ages. In my view I think human know less about the nature. Besides, birds and animals are more tuned with it. They adapted well with the nature. Hence they know better about the natural phenomenons than us.
